About Me

Hi, I’m Liz Mutcheson, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Registered Nurse (RN).

I have been a practicing IBCLC for 3 years, before this I held my Certified Breastfeeding Specialist certificate for 5 years. This, combined with my 8 years experience working as a RN in L&D and postpartum I have had the privilege of helping countless families with breastfeeding, lactation support and education on newborn care.

My passion lies in supporting mother’s during one of the most important transitions in their life. There’s so much more that goes into this vulnerable time than just breastfeeding and I look at the mother and her support system as a whole while providing consults. Each family is unique and I strive to help you meet your breastfeeding goals in a way that works for your family. There are so many different ways to breastfeed!

I am a wife and mother to 3 beautiful children. I personally know what it can feel like to struggle with breastfeeding. With my first 2 babies I had a wonderful experience but after welcoming home our 3rd we struggled initially more than ever. My son was born with a tongue tie and I used everything I had learned as an IBCLC to help us get through the first month of breastfeeding. My son continued to struggle with colic, gas, aerophagia and poor oral tone. This lead me into a deep dive learning about tethered oral tissue and the team it truly takes to help! We are still happily nursing to this day due to our support. I am currently enrolled in Oral Habilitation Master class coursework to further my skills in oral ties and supporting you, I will receive my certification this spring. I have such a drive to help families going through similar difficulties we did. I would love to help walk you through finding support, referrals and a team you feel comfortable working with.
